Most of armed forces committed overseas, morale low, population mostly unarmed, wealthiest nation in world, allies alienated by cowboy foreign policy, and we’re in the middle of occupying another foreign nation, which makes it impossible for us to argue internatinal law or moral considerations.
Don’t we owe China alot of money? What if we can’t pay it back? What if Russia annexes Alaska to drill its (currently preserved) oil; do we have the balls to threaten nuclear war? To follow through?
Is the U.S.A. “too big to fail”? Or will its size, like the mortgage/securities insurance superstructure, make its failure all the more spectacular and destructive? I can’t tell, only time can. And will.
